All Imperial windows and doors are produced with concealed hardware. For ease of operation all moving parts and especially their connections should be oiled once a year with light grade machine oil like the type used for sewing machines.
Cleaning of the windows is not only restricted to the glazed areasthe lites. The cleaning should be applied to the sashes and jambs using a mild household soap with a damp cloth. Any scrubbing or scratching of the wooden surface should be avoided. This could deteriorate the UV shield at the outside leaving your windows without the necessary ultraviolet protection layer.
The refresh sponge “Quick & Easy” provided by BASF-Glazurit, should be applied after cleaning and drying the windows once or twice a year.
For heavier repair after ten or more years of operation, attacked parts should be carefully sanded. After careful dust removal, the wooden parts should be primed twice with appropriate color stain and then finished with the same kind as used at the other parts of the windos 24 hours later, allowing the first coat to be fully cured.

Be careful not to destroy silicone sealant and the compression rubber seal. This could lead to water penetration and/or infiltration into the hidden part of the window; in this case, the wooden part can get rotten and destroy the integrity of the whole window. If you find destroyed silicone, sealant or rubber, please contact your dealer or the contractor who installed the windows.
We treat all the wood with special sealant. This does not only make it even more water repellent and decay resistant, it helps stain bond securely to the surface.
In addition, we use thicker glass than other windows manufacturers, making ours better insulated, more soundproof and more impact resistant.
Simulated divided lite grilles are used to add design feature to fullsize panes of glass.
Achieve the look of heritage, colonial or craftsman era with our classic grilles and divided lites.
